"Queen Callie"

Callie House (1861–1928) was a former slave and mother of six who led the National Ex-Slave Mutual Relief, Bounty and Pension Association (MRB&PA). She created and organized the first national reparations for former slaves movement. Let’s give her her flowers!

Frederick Douglass (1818 – 1895) was born into slavery on the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay in Talbot County, Maryland. He was an American social reformer, abolitionist, orator, writer, and statesman. He became the most important leader of the movement for American Freedmen civil rights in the 19th century.
