Roslyn Mickens

Roslyn Mickens is a native of Washington, DC and spent many of her formative years in Northeast’s Trinidad neighborhood. She is an alumna of Towson University receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications and is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. In 1991, Ros (former CEO/COO) established Parascope Entertainment Inc. to help artists and other creatives reach their potential. She also has a history of advocacy, Ros worked with Trinidad Baptist Church in DC to help lobby Congress to impose sanctions on South Africa and to divest from companies who did business with the country, during the apartheid era. Additionally, Ros worked as an educator for several years in Prince George County Public Schools. As a volunteer, she would often help feed the hungry at local food pantries, efforts coordinated by her parents. She looks forward to continuing her advocacy work with the DMV Freedmen and By the People Media.
